We know nothing at all.
We know nothing at all.
Carolyn Hileman
I don’t know what it is like to have to fight every day just to survive, I have no idea what it feels like to go shopping for food and know when I walk out the door this may very well be the day I die, I have never been hated so much that a people, a whole group of people wanted to extinguish my very existence. I have never had family members taken from me and put away in camps never to see them again, I have never had to wear a visible sign of my religion, or, should I say a target on my person. I have never been forced to hide in holes under a home I bought and paid for, never had to hide my children while our home was being searched, I have never had to give a one of them to strangers in hopes that at least one of us would live. I have never been forced to work at a concentration camp, or had to watch as sisters and brothers were beaten or starved.
I have never been marched into a building, forced to disrobe and then put to death by gas, I am not one of those whose lifeless bodies were put on conveyer belts and pulled up to the fires of hell, I was not one of the ashes that fell so softly it seemed like snow, it was not I, but it was real. We American’s we know so much, we are so smart, we can fix anything, some think with just words. It is easy to forget them, easy to say why don’t they just give in and have two states, it is so easy to judge them sitting in our air conditioned homes, driving our nice cars to market, we will never see the broken pieces of our child blown to pieces by a so – called freedom fighter. We will never have to hurriedly run through the streets so as not to be there when a suicide bomber is. We know so much, we American’s, we know so much, and we know nothing at all.
Our media portrays these people as evil, greedy people who are unwilling to share; they show the broken bodies of their enemy and do not bother to show the broken bodies that brought them to this point. These are a people who for as long as they have existed have had groups of people who wanted to destroy their very existence, their enemies do not wish to share the land with them they wish to drive them from it, to kill them one and all. And we the smart American’s are perched in our coliseum seats awaiting the thumbs down sign from our great king. It will not hurt us, more likely the media will portray it as their just due and we will go about our merry way as if they never existed. We know so much, we American’s, we know so much and we know nothing at all.
