Politics – Voter Question: “How did that vote for Obama work out for you? Are you better off today than when Barack Obama was elected? Is he making the economy better or worse?
Employment-Population Ratio – What change looks like… turning back the clock 30 years:
Politics – Obama’s intellectual mentor as a teenager was Frank Marshall Davis, an admitted bisexual, pedophile Marxist, which may help explain many of his adult views and opinions.
Politics – President Obama campaigned on the promise to “fundamentally transform” America, thus bankrupting the economy and earning disrespect all across the globe.
Politics – Liberals believe in diversity to segment America into unhappy subgroups believing Democrats have the answers, when in reality they actually created the underlying problems.
Media – Mitt Romney should stop answering queries on his upbringing and experiences until President Obama faces the same level of investigation, not from fictional autobiographies.
Media – Republicans must learn ignore Democrat distractions by de-directing the media narrative back to relevant campaign issues such as role of government and the economy.
Media – Washington Post has twice now attempted to use decades-old incidents to create ongoing media narratives meant to negatively define challengers to their exalted Obama.
Media – Newspapers continue to hemorrhage readers with only political ads in the 2012 election to save them, but I expect many newspapers will disappear after the next election.
Politics – I expect that the 2012 Presidential election will be the most racist campaign, with baseless accusations used to distract voter attention from Obama’s record of failure.
Politics – Now that the Republican Party has settled on Mitt Romney, I expect that the TEA Party members will vote for him in November, but leave the Party to become Independents.
Principles – “Every science has for its basis a system of principles as fixed and unalterable as those by which the universe is regulated and governed. Man cannot make principles; he can only discover them.” Thomas Paine.
Economy – Economists are only accurate torturing their economic models to accurately predict the past, but extremely poor accurately predicting future economic performance.
Budget – The Senate rejected the Obama budget by a bipartisan vote of 99-0 continuing their record of not passing any budget in the past 3 years and no plans to do one this year.
Total unemployed, plus all marginally attached workers plus total employed part time, as a percent of all civilian labor force plus all marginally attached workers (U-6):
Jobs – When the number of people unemployed includes the long term discouraged workers that used to be included until 1994, the total unemployment rate is 22.3%.
Finance – JP Morgan suffered a $2 billion trading loss in credit derivatives which once again confirms that Too Big To Fail does not guarantee that they are not Too Big To Lose.
TARP – Obama claims the GM bailout as a success, after “investing” more than $100 billion in taxpayer money into a company worth, not just what government owns, less than $34 billion.
State – California faces a deficit of $16 billion, the result of over-spending, tax revenues that fail to meet forecasts, and tax policies that drive individuals and businesses out of the state.
Environment – Believers in anthropogenic global warming (aka “climate change”) are like religious zealots, demonizing critics branding them “criminals against humanity.”
Dependence – Time Magazine cover breastfeeding a three year-old is a perfect segue into the “Julia” scenario replacing dependence on the government teat for the rest of his life.
Healthcare – ObamaCare “death panels” have been revealed as the implementation of what is known in bioethics as “futile care theory” or “medical futility” or cost effective care.
Education – Victim “Studies” departments are a political cause masquerading as an academic discipline, and hide slip-shod, academically non-rigorous “grievance” politics.
Marriage – Homosexuals are a vocal minority, less than 5% of the population, who are demanding support for their alternative lifestyle and redefinition of basic relationships.
Crime – There is a disturbing increase of black-on-white bias crime that is receiving little media attention and one which local police authorities refuse to classify as hate crime.
Debt – I expect that the country’s credit rating will again be downgraded after Congress debt ceiling discussions again fail to find sufficient spending cuts to halt deficit spending.
Deficit – I expect one or more states to declare bankruptcy by 2012 and seek assistance to recover from the bad economic decisions of the past under federal judicial protection.
Housing – I expect that it will take four or more years at the current rate for the backlog of foreclosures to finally clear, before we see any signs of life of a robust housing recovery.
Principles – “An army of principles can penetrate where an army of soldiers cannot.” Thomas Paine.
Afghanistan – President Obama’s strategy appears to be withdrawal regardless of conditions on the ground, hoping the surge will hold, Karzai survives, and the Taliban agrees to peace.
Africa – I expect that Obama will create a “crisis” so he can inject American troops into an African country to demonstrate his “military leadership” in this Presidential election year.
Israel – I expect that Israel will be attacked by Hamas again in 2012 and the IDF will retaliate by invading and then annexing Gaza based on the concept of defensible borders.
Israel – I expect that Israel will suffer a nuclear attack from Islamist extremists by 2012, and Obama will stand aside and not help defend this longtime ally.
Asia – I expect that North Korea will attack South Korea and attempt to reunite Korea by the 2012, and Obama will be an unwitting accomplice as he abandons this ally in a time of war.

Walter Reed Banned Family Members From Bringing Bibles to Wounded Warriors
(CNSNews.com) – In a Sept. 14 policy memorandum, Col. Chuck Callahan, chief of staff of Walter Reed National Medical Center, banned family members from bringing Bibles and other “religious items” when visiting wounded military personnel at the facility.

Federal judge gets drop on Tombstone
Historic Tombstone, Ariz., long has been known as the “Town Too Tough To Die,” but that was before it encountered the Obama administration, which has refused permission for the town to repair the water system in the nearby Huachuca Mountains from which it has drawn H2O for more than a century.

Probably the last person you’d expect to cite Sarah Palin favorably is Noam Chomsky. Yet in an interview with the Leftist news organization Democracy Now, Chomsky did precisely that, saying Palin was right to mock Obama for his lack of substance.

Cops accused of stealing citizens’ guns
A pair of California cities and the state’s Department of Justice are facing a federal lawsuit today because, plaintiffs claim, the police confiscated firearms during investigations but now refuse to return them – even after the subjects of the inquiries were cleared of any wrongdoing.
The Second Amendment Foundation, which has joined gun owners Douglas Churchill and Peter Lau in the lawsuit, say the cities are engaging in “deliberate theft of personal property.”

Hunters — Interesting slant on things
AMERICA’S HUNTERS — Pretty Amazing!
The world’s largest army… America ‘s hunters!
I had never thought about this…
A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and arrived at a striking conclusion:
There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin .
Allow me to restate that number: Over the last
several months, Wisconsin ‘s hunters became the eighth largest army in the world.
More men under arms than in Iran .
More than France and Germany combined.
These men deployed to the woods of a single American state, Wisconsin , to hunt with
firearms, and no one was killed.
That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan ‘s 700,000 hunters, all of whom have now returned home safely.
Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. And then add in the total number of hunters in the other 46 states.
It’s millions more.
The point?
America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.
Hunting…
it’s not just a way to fill the freezer.
It’s a matter of national security.
That’s why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed.
Food for thought, when next we consider gun control.

How anyone in their right mind or let me be more specific and clarify; anyone that loves living in a free country and is allowed to become or be whatever they want that could support the Democratic Party is well beyond my comprehension. The typical response from die hard Democratic voters that go to church regularly and live relatively simple lives is my Democrat ain’t no communist and is against gay marriage and abortion. That may very well be but how does he vote in Washington? He follows the leadership’s party line or be thrown out of office and that is the fact of the matter. If he/she doesn’t vote the party line they will never see any legislation make it out of committee.
There are some RINOS that belong to this group as well. This party has turned into a communist party for years and now we learn how bold many of them are about their affiliation with the communist party. Recently over 80 members of the Democratic Party most of which are blacks (all members of the black caucus) were proven to be members of the several nation and international socialist organizations. If you are a black person in this country that covets freedom for yourself and your family this can no doubt give the black community a black-eye for keeping on reelecting these communist.
For the unlearned please look up the words Marxist, Socialist and Communist and compare and contrast what they mean. You will see they are one and the same so from now on call Obama what he and the Democratic Party are “Communist” who are overthrowing the constitution using such as internationally created laws, regulations and/or treaties Agenda 21 among others. The Democrats know full well they must eliminate property rights by individuals in order to succeed at establishing a tyrannical state such as the U.S.
An example would be the leftist liberals demand that no one in America has a right to own property. Amendment 5 of the Constitution says private property can’t be taken for public use without just compensation, and yet (without compensation) we see story after story where the government (unchecked or unregulated agencies run amuck) goes in someone’s backyard and finds a mud puddle and declares it a wetland or finds a plant, that they think might be extinct and seize the people’s property in the so-called interest of preserving natural resources, again without just compensation.
For example: To sum up the liberal’s feelings concerning property rights, Peter Berle (president of National Audubon Society; board member Sierra Club) a well-known (Democrat) liberal leader said, “We liberals reject the idea of private property.” Put that in your pipe and smoke it Democrats! Are you starting to see where your Party has gone?
Now consider this; a government that is anxious to give alms to as many people as possible is even more anxious to commandeer their earnings. Witness, through Federal, State, and local taxes, a man/woman pays 40% or better of their income in taxes. One might ask, “Why have we become a nation of such horrific lawlessness?”
One of the main reasons is when the state becomes the violator of liberty and property rather than its guarantor; it debases respect for all law. People in society develop an increasing disrespect and disregard for what the law demands. They view the law as the agent for immorality in the form of legalized plunder for the benefit of some at the expense of others, and this same disrespect and disregard sooner or later starts to creep into dealings between individuals (trickle-down theory). Society verges on the brink of lawlessness.
Stop and think, when individuals began to ask government to do things for them, rather than merely to secure rights and property, they began asking government to violate others rights and property for their benefit. I understand for the time being we are locked into a system that will take years to unwind but for us to remain a free country these socialist policies that have accrued since the creation of Social Security must come to an end. We have a choice live under tyranny or be free.
The results of all these socialist policies have led to this finding:
Free market capitalism demands that private owners be left alone to use their land as they choose. Only in a Socialist, Communist, or Dictatorship form of government can government arbitrarily take control of the use of private property.
In a study done by Dixie Lee Ray, he noted that throughout the history of great democratic nations, they endured about 200 years before their fall from power and subsequent disintegration. In every case there appears to be a clear-cut sequence of stages:
From bondage to spiritual faith
From faith to great courage
From courage to liberty
From liberty to abundance
From abundance to complacency
From complacency to selfishness
From selfishness to apathy
From apathy to dependency
And from dependency back again into bondage
Do you see the United States somewhere in this sequence? Has our great country been so compromised and corrupted that we’re now willing to march in lock step to our doom in the footsteps of other fallen nations? A British historian Alexander Tyler once said, “ A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government; they will only exist until the people find that they can vote money for themselves from the treasury and until the politicians find that they can distribute that money in order to buy votes and perpetuate themselves in power. Hence, democracies always collapse over weak fiscal policy to be followed by a dictatorship.
“A country which leads the world in homosexuality, promiscuity, pornography, divorce, abortion, violent crime, drug usage, alcoholism, and child abuse: a country which embraces its enemies (China through trade) while turning its back on its friends (Taiwan); and a country which turns its back on its spiritual, Christ-centered heritage while believing itself to still be the greatest – is ready for a major fall,” says Don McAlvany. It happened to Rome, Babylon, Persia, Assyria, Greece, and now America is on the verge of allowing it to happen.
With this comes a falling away from God and the result of this is as follows:

Jeremiah 51:14 surely I will fill you with men as with locust, and they shall lift up a battle cry against you.
Proverbs 5:10 lest aliens be filled with thy wealth; and thy labors be in the house of a stranger.
We have been taken captive and most Americans still don’t see it! Read the curses listed here in Deut 28:43, 44 “The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. He shall lend to you (China), but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.
The citizens of America today take a back seat to illegal aliens and to those David Rockefeller set up (via NAFTA) to take our jobs from us and to finance our debt (China). He said every country should be governed like the Chinese.
Can anyone deny this has been and still is the result? Do we now owe as Tennessee Ernie Ford says our soul to the company store? We are now dependent on a communist country to finance our debt and illegal aliens have heavily infiltrated our country robbing it of valuable resources that include water and land, our monetary entitlements such health care, food stamps, free education, etc.
For crying out loud get a life and pay attention to what is happening to your freedoms. Illegal aliens have more rights than you do and you are citizens that go to work every day and pay your taxes. If you get out of line you pay the piper but an illegal alien comes in violation of our sovereign laws and gets rewarded with all the stuff I mentioned above. This ain’t right and you know it is not so do something about and fire every single incumbent in Washington and yes that means yours as well.

The ACLU is targeting yet another school system and demonstrating that our public schools are among the primary battlefields for anti-religious bigotry.
The protection of our public school students, educators, and administrators from organizations bent on silencing people of faith and rewriting our history has been a significant part of Liberty Counsel’s mission from the beginning. But now, with an increasing sense of urgency, America’s public schools are being manipulatively used to destroy the very communities they serve!

The ACLU is committed to marginalizing America’s religious heritage by attempting to remove any expression of religion from the public square. They routinely attempt to bully public school administrations into rolling over for their radical agenda.
Our recent Giles County, Virginia, case is typical of their pattern of litigation.
As I shared earlier this week, the ACLU of Virginia sued the Giles County School Board to force them to remove a privately-sponsored historical display that includes the Ten Commandments as one of 29 framed documents, all of which played a role in developing our system of law and government.
The original display also contains the Magna Carta, the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence, and others – bringing the total number of framed documents to 29.
The ACLU has made it their mission to remove the Ten Commandments from the public high school in the small Appalachian town of Narrows, Virginia. They contend that the Ten Commandments stick out like a “sore thumb” among the framed documents depicting American law and government at Narrows High School.

I knew when I walked into the Roanoke, VA, courtroom on Monday to face off against the ACLU that it was going to be a very challenging day.
During the three hour hearing, the Judge suggested that one way to resolve the ACLU’s case against the inclusion of the Ten Commandments in the public high school’s historical display would be to remove the first four Commandments (the ones that most directly reference God) – leaving only the last six. No ruling will occur on the case until after a mandatory mediation conference.

Whether the ACLU wants to recognize historical facts or not, the Ten Commandments played a significant role in the development of Western culture and the creation of our system of American law and government.
The Declaration of Independence mentions our “Creator,” and the Magna Carta and the Mayflower Compact both prominently mention “God” and His role in the minds of the men who built our nation’s foundation.
In fact, the vast majority of the founding documents refer to God’s role in inspiring our nation’s laws. One would have to re-write history to post foundational documents void of any mention of God. Even the approved Virginia history curriculum mentions the Ten Commandments and the role of Judeo-Christian thought in the development of American law and government.
Now, on an almost weekly basis, Liberty Counsel is called upon to aggressively defend the rights of students, teachers, administrators, and school systems as anti-religious organizations subvert our Constitution!

Musings on the week ending 5/12/2012
Government – “My political curiosity, exclusive of my anxious solicitude for the public welfare, leads me to ask who authorized them to speak the language of, We, the People, instead of We, the States? States are the characteristics, and the soul of the confederation. If the States be not the agents of this compact, it must be one of great consolidated National Government of the people of all the States.” Patrick Henry.
Politics – Now that Romney has sewed up the nomination, Republicans must agree on a unified, coherent platform: economic plan, jobs plan, budget plan, foreign policy, etc.
Politics – Voter Question: “How did that vote for Obama work out for you? Are you better off today than when Barack Obama was elected? Is he making the economy better or worse?
Labor Force Participation Rate – What change looks like… turning back the clock 30 years:
Politics – Barack Obama’s re-election campaign sputtered off to a start with a quick photo-op speech in Afghanistan followed by a half empty university stadium kickoff rally.
Politics – At this point in the campaign, President Jimmy Carter led Ronald Reagan by 15 points in a head-to-head match-up, and he went on to lose by almost 10 percentage points.
Politics – When history is written on Barack Obama, he will be remembered as a master marketeer, consummate campaigner, and an incompetent national leader out of his depth.
Politics – Occupy Wall Street is not a movement; it is an amalgam of clueless students, backed by professional protestors, and supported by dedicated communists and anarchists.
Media – Democrats and Hollywood have much in common, since they both live in their own world of make believe and reality is optional behind the camera or tele-prompter.
Media – Newspapers continue to hemorrhage readers with only political ads in the 2012 election to save them, but I expect many newspapers will disappear after the next election.
Politics – I expect that the 2012 Presidential election will be the most racist campaign, with baseless accusations used to distract voter attention from Obama’s record of failure.
Politics – Now that the Republican Party has settled on Mitt Romney, I expect that the TEA Party members will vote for him in November, but leave the Party to become Independents.
Principles – “Virtue, morality, and religion. This is the armor, my friend, and this alone that renders us invincible. These are the tactics we should study. If we lose these, we are conquered, fallen indeed…so long as our manners and principles remain sound, there is no danger.” Patrick Henry.
Economy – When socialism is implemented and found financially unsustainable liberals are surprised that the required financial austerity is painful to repair the long term damage done.
Jobs – Since mid-2010 when the 99 week unemployment insurance expired, disability claims rose by 2.2 million reflecting less stringent screening procedures and more attractive benefits.
Marriage – Obama’s latest distraction from his economic record is support for same sex marriage once campaign bundlers refused to contribute until he went public with support.
Education – Obama’s campaign stops at campuses promises free stuff to buy votes, but does nothing to address the underlying root causes of runaway tuition inflation.
Feminism – Obama’s campaign cartoon chronicle “The Life of Julia” is a perfect description of Democrat’s cradle-to-grave women’s government dependence at every step of her life.
Environment – The Endangered Species Act has been a complete failure providing little additional protection to most listed species since its real goal is to impede development.
Welfare – The federal government started the “lifeline” program to provide phones to low income Americans, but expanding it use to cell phones has become another entitlement.
Debt – I expect that the country’s credit rating will again be downgraded after Congress debt ceiling discussions again fail to find sufficient spending cuts to halt deficit spending.
Deficit – I expect one or more states to declare bankruptcy by 2012 and seek assistance to recover from the bad economic decisions of the past under federal judicial protection.
Housing – I expect that it will take four or more years at the current rate for the backlog of foreclosures to finally clear, before we see any signs of life of a robust housing recovery.
Liberty – “Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!” Patrick Henry.
Defense – The START arms control treaty is beginning to unravel as Russia reacts to NATO missile defense plans and threatens “pre-emptive use of force” against future installations.
Europe – Elections in Greece, France, and Italy supposedly repudiated budget austerity, when in reality austerity is a myth since most governments enacted large stimulus packages.
Africa – I expect that Obama will create a “crisis” so he can inject American troops into an African country to demonstrate his “military leadership” in this Presidential election year.
Israel – I expect that Israel will be attacked by Hamas again in 2012 and the IDF will retaliate by invading and then annexing Gaza based on the concept of defensible borders.
Israel – I expect that Israel will suffer a nuclear attack from Islamist extremists by 2012, and Obama will stand aside and not help defend this longtime ally.
Asia – I expect that North Korea will attack South Korea and attempt to reunite Korea by the 2012, and Obama will be an unwitting accomplice as he abandons this ally in a time of war.

There are many op-eds written that expose politicians’ duplicitous positions, but they are usually able to side-step the accusation even when they’re caught in the web of their own deceit. But there are times when information is revealed that is so earth-shattering, that they cannot evade the truth, and there’s no place to hide – and this is one of those times.
Last week, Joe Biden stood in front of the cameras with that smug smile and skewed grin and, without batting an eyelash, proceeded to tell us how much he and Obama have Israel’s back – more than any other administration, and what a tremendous relationship they have:

“ATLANTA (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden says he’s frustrated by Jewish critics who say the White House is not committed to the security and preservation of Israel as a Jewish state.
Biden told conservative rabbis meeting in Atlanta that he personally is a Zionist, and believes that “no president since Harry Truman has done more for Israel’s security than Barack Obama.”
Biden also told the international Rabbinical Assembly that sanctions that go into effect this summer to deter Iran from developing nuclear weapons will devastate the Iranian economy.”
We all know that what he said about preserving Israel’s security was far from the truth, but he can keep up this ruse because there’s been nothing substantive to prove otherwise – until now.
Its time to drop the ultimate Biden Bomb on President Obama so there more speculation on whether they intend to bomb Iran.
This is what this great protector and friend of Israel said in 2008, when he was running for office with Obama, so hold on to your seats; we’re in for a ride.

“Barack Obama’s presidential running-mate Joseph Biden told Israeli officials that they need to accept the idea Iran will acquire nuclear weapons.
Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, visiting Israel several years ago, told Israeli officials diplomacy and sanctions would be futile against Iran.
On Monday Israel’s Army Radio reported details of the comments Biden made when he met with ‘senior Israeli officials behind closed doors.’
Reportedly Biden told the officials he opposed ‘opening an additional military and diplomatic front’ against Iran.
‘Israel will have to reconcile itself with the nuclearization of Iran,’ Army Radio quoted Biden as telling the Israelis.
Army Radio said that at that time Israeli officials were shocked by Biden’s comments.
Within Israel, a consensus across the political spectrum has developed on the Iran matter. Iran’s president Ahmnadinejad has stated that he will wipe Israel off the map, making clear his use weapons (sic) of mass destruction against the Jewish state.
Biden has been an ardent supporter of the state of Israel in the Senate. His Selection by Barack Obama was seen as an effort to shore up support with the U.S. Jewish community.
Obama has given mixed signals on the Iran threat. During the Democratic primary he argued for direct negotiations with Iran. He has avoided making any suggestion the U.S. should take military action against Iran.
Last Monday Obama said he would continue to use diplomatic means to stop Iran’s nuclear program.”

Views on the News – 5/12/2012
There is a glaring disconnect between the conventional wisdom, which still maintains that Obama has a slight edge in the electoral-map math, and the fundamentals pointing to the probability of a decisive defeat for the President. This Presidential election is coming down to two immutable facts that have become increasingly clear as November draws closer: President Obama will be running for a second term under a stagnant economy, and his two most significant legislative accomplishments, health care reform and a job-goosing stimulus, remain deeply unpopular. It doesn’t take a professional pundit to recognize that’s a very tough ticket for reelection. Obama’s scores on the economy are worsening, even as voters still have mixed feelings on who’s to blame. The Battleground survey found Republicans leading Democrats by 2 points on the generic Congressional ballot. The other red flag for the President is the waning enthusiasm of his base—college-age voters, African-Americans, and Hispanics. The most recent NBC/Wall Street Journal poll showed that fewer than half of voters (45%) ages 18-34 expressed a high interest in the election, down 17 points from the same time four years ago. Democrat enthusiasm overall is down 16 points from 2008, and it now lags behind the GOP. This is critical, because, for Obama, excitement is as important as persuasion. Actions speak louder than spin, and the moves of Obama’s campaign officials indicate they are awfully worried about their prospects. The most recent telltale sign is that they went up with an early, expensive $25 million ad buy in nine swing states, attempting to reintroduce the President in the best possible way. Obama’s campaign officials can’t utilize the time-tested “are you better than you were four years ago” message because it doesn’t ring true, so they have to argue things are getting a little better and the administration needs more time. It shows how limited the Obama playbook is this time around: mobilize the base, lambaste the opposition, and hope enough independents will hold their nose and vote for him. It’s hard to believe that Obama’s campaign is confident of victory and more likely, campaign officials are putting on an awfully good game face in light of what promises to be a very challenging reelection and a real possibility that the incumbent President and his Party will be swept from office in November.

In 2008, young voters were inspired by Barack Obama and helped elect him President, but Obama’s failure to live up to his promise (and his promises) has led to widespread disillusionment not only among the young, but with voters of all ages who were captivated by him four years ago. Presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney now has the opportunity to claim the mantle of idealism that Obama has fumbled, and in so doing, Romney could capture a significant and potentially decisive share of the voters who handed Obama the Presidency last time out. Obama’s supposed idealism has been unmasked for its hollowness, shallowness and callowness. We were promised post-partisanship but have been subjected to hyper-partisanship instead. There are few groups that have been hurt more by the President’s policies than the idealistic young people who so fervently supported him. It is the young, after all, who will be used as the piggy bank to fund ObamaCare if it survives, and who will be burdened by the unconscionable levels of debt that this administration has run up. More than half of college graduates under 25 are now unemployed or underemployed; it is likely that many are losing the “hope” that drove them to the polls in 2008. It is now incumbent upon Romney to offer a hopeful, youthful, idealistic and optimistic vision of conservatism. It would be an effective way to expose and counter the cynicism masquerading as idealism that has been churning out of the Obama campaign machine. Conservatism can offer a home for the frustrated idealism of liberals who ultimately discover the logical contradictions of their beliefs. I’ve noticed that conservatives are more focused on what they’re for and liberals are more focused on who they’re for. A person is likely to define himself as a conservative, for example, because he stands for the free market, liberty, limited government and strong national defense. A person is likely to define himself as a liberal, on the other hand, because he’s for the middle class, the poor, working people, women, minorities, etc. That difference in approach explains why it is possible for conservative policies to be the best way to achieve liberal ideals. Liberals typically attack conservative policies on the basis of their supposed impacts on the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our society. Conservatives should not back down from defending their policies, and attacking liberal policies, on those very terms. Liberal policies are emasculating our private sector and bankrupting our public sector. This is impeding the creation of jobs in struggling communities, and will cripple the ability of government to provide a proper safety net in the future. The people who will be hurt most by Obamanomics are the very people that it is supposedly designed to help, because the rich will be fine in spite of Obamanomics; the poor will not. Romney understands the importance of seizing the mantle of idealism from our faltering President, and not merely running as a highly competent technocrat.

You very seldom hear Obama talk about his record, which is especially noteworthy because like him or hate him, Obama has passed a lot of legislation, but nevertheless Obama is a failed President because his policies haven’t worked. If Obama had actually produced results, the country would look very different today:
· Obama promised to restart the economy with his trillion dollar stimulus spending and lower the unemployment rate, but instead unemployment has remained above 8% for more than 3 years now and the economic recovery remains stalled.
· Obama promised not to leave our children a debt they cannot repay, but instead out-of-control spending has accelerated and the U.S. credit rating has been downgraded.
· Obama spent more than 75 billion dollars to directly address the mortgage crisis, but Obama has accomplished very little of significance to help most homeowners over the long term or to prevent a future housing crisis.
· Obama touts General Motors as a success story, but taxpayers lost 14 billion dollars on the deal while GM received a special 45 billion dollar tax break.
· Obama spent hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars to promote the Chevy Volt and said he had a goal of seeing a million electric cars in the U.S. by 2015, but a meager 7,700 Volts were sold last year, before production was halted this year.
· ObamaCare was supposed to reduce the deficit, give almost universal coverage, and everyone was supposed to be able to keep his own health care plan, but instead ObamaCare will add 700 billion dollars to the deficit over its first 10 years, 3-5 million people will lose their health care, and 30 million people still won’t have health coverage.
· Obama attacked Bush for high gas prices and promised alternative fuels as a viable alternative, but instead gasoline has doubled to $3.80 per gallon.
· Mexican criminals are supposed to be in jail today because of Operation Fast and Furious, but instead, the Obama Administration ended up putting guns in the hands of Mexican cartels while Eric Holder tries to cover up their incompetence.
· Obama promised to win in Afghanistan, but instead military advice on the conduct of the war was ignored and the only guarantee was when the U.S. would leave.
· Hillary Clinton tried to “reset” relations with the Russians, but instead Russia is helping Iran build nuclear weapons and threatening pre-emptive attacks.
For the first time in his political career Obama is being held accountable for his actions and the results are abysmal and lag far behind voters expectations.

It is clear that the entire re-elect Obama operation likes its odds of winning a second term based on a strategy to defeat the man, Mitt Romney, rather than run on Obama’s record. The informal slogan is essentially “Be confident, but take nothing for granted.” Despite the dangers of high unemployment and gas prices, Mitt Romney faces four major barriers to winning the big prize.
· First, in the view of the Obamans, Romney is still a weak candidate. The belief is that Barack Obama has a better personality and better marketing. Obama’s team is sitting on a multimedia treasure trove of research and expects to launch powerful missiles at key moments throughout the campaign.
· Second, they maintain, their research suggests Romney has exactly one rhetorical path to victory, as a can-do businessman able to fix what’s broken. The key is to focus on dismantling Romney and prevent the election from becoming a referendum on the President’s economic tenure.
· Third, the Obama team argues, Romney has taken many positions to the right of public opinion. The President’s team plans to throw two years’ worth of provocative statements in Romney’s face, using sophisticated micro-targeting to impacted demographics.
· Fourth and finally, Presidential politics, in the end, is all about the Electoral College. The Obama campaign’s analysis, matching recent media number crunching, indicates that Romney has a paper-thin margin of error to get to the magical 270.
Nevertheless, the Obamans are quite aware of challenges bred by three years of incumbency. Among voters, disappointment has replaced hope; change has been as rare as good economic news. Those job and fuel numbers are especially toxic. Romney has the luxury of an open schedule. Although without the gilded mantle of the Presidency, he can spend every waking hour as a full-time candidate, while the President is required to do his day job. Obama’s team expects one-upmanship and fireworks when their magnetic, fired-up leader hits the road, including some planned spring and summer battleground bus trips, but lately Obama’s magnetism has faded and he no longer draws the crowds like he did in 2008 when he was all promise and no missed expectations.

The now-infamous “Cloward-Piven Strategy” outlined by Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven in 1966 proposed a clear roadmap to socialism: get so many people addicted to government entitlements that the economic system collapses, and in the resulting chaos the populace will demand and vote for a new economic system in which everyone is supported by the state. Sounds logical (if nefarious), and President Obama seems hell-bent on bringing it to fruition in the United States. The problem for Obama’s inner socialist is that he’s also required for appearance’s sake to attempt a rescue of the American economy using Keynesian principles. This self-cancelling combo-strategy is the underlying cause of our economic stagnation. President Obama is simultaneously trying to rescue the economy using the Keynesian/Democratic model while at the same time also trying to destroy the economy through the Cloward-Piven Strategy. His two mutually contradictory plans cancel each other out, rendering all his efforts self-negating, and this explains why the American economy has stalled. This strategy should be called the Obama-Piven Strategy and is the reason why we remain mired in a deep recession. We are neither recovering, as the Keynesian model predicts, nor is capitalism collapsing, as the revolutionaries hope; the Obama-Piven strategy ensures that we remain in suspended animation between the two extremes. This explains what is happening in Europe. Voters in both France and Greece, two countries ruinously addicted to government entitlements, rejected the “austerity” model of debt-reduction and instead doubled down on unsustainable spending sprees. Exactly as Cloward and Piven had surmised, once you get 50+% of the population hooked on “free” government money, there’s no turning back, they will vote for socialists every time. Once enough voters are on the dole, regardless of your party’s ideology or what label it has, you will win elections if you promise to keep the free money flowing. This was Cloward-Piven’s point, and they turned out to be frighteningly correct. It seems that if they were left to their own devices, both France and Greece are willing to ignore reality and plunge headfirst into a completely unsustainable socialist model. The question is whether Obama’s policies over the last four years have addicted enough people to food stamps and Social Security disability payments and unemployment benefits and so many other entitlement programs that we as a nation will go the route of France and vote for the guy who promises to keep the drugs flowing, regardless of the consequences?

The political left has no solutions to our most pressing problems: whether the issue is economic growth or runaway entitlement spending or non-performing public schools, left-of-center solutions were tried and found wanting here and abroad during the last century. Further, the only solutions that seem to work today are right-of-center, requiring privatization, individual empowerment and free markets. For Barack Obama the problem is even worse. If the election is about the economy or government regulation of the economy, or whether bigger government or smaller government is the solution to what ails the economy, the President is almost certain to lose. So leftist make up a problem whose only solution appears to be higher taxes and bigger government. That’s where inequality comes in because it’s a way to change the subject. It’s a way to find a scapegoat to blame (explicitly or implicitly) for the problems at hand. It’s a way to distract attention away from the fact that the President is not solving our problems (and even making them worse!) toward people who are not generally loved. It’s also a way to justify a more active role for government. Barack Obama has obviously learned from that experience: High gasoline prices are a political problem, so blame the oil companies; Families are hurting, so blame the rich; and People are not successful finding a job, so blame the most successful 1%. There is nothing new about any of this. The tactic of finding a scapegoat to blame for our problems and using the argument to justify more government power is as old as politics itself. Barack Obama is an expert at political distract and distort, but campaign theatrics will not be enough this election and his re-election is in jeopardy, with the economy continuing to suffer and America ‘s reputation destroyed abroad.

The core economic model of the American left is Keynesianism, which is less a viable economic path than it is an unrealistic pipe dream that stirs the collectivist’s blood, much like the notions of world peace and Utopia. Keynesianism is a model based upon how collectivists think the economy should operate, rather than how it actually operates. It is based on a pleasant hypothesis that a central government can stimulate demand and shorten economic downturns for stabilized prosperity, but unfortunately it doesn’t work in practice. The facts surrounding his economic policy are simply not useful for anything but arguing the same policy’s ineffectiveness. Keynesianism always fail when employed wholesale as an economic strategy. Obama’s stimulus was based on this Keynesian economic model, and it allocated expected future taxpayer money to achieve short-term stimulus. The Obama administration posited that future revenue should be used to stimulate consumerism and get employment back to where it should be, but clearly, that hasn’t happened. What has happened, however, is that the federal government share of GDP increased from 19% in 2008 to 24% by 2011, and this administration will have grown the federal budget by 16.5% by the time its first term ends, barring any new stimulus. This significantly increases taxpayer liability, which all but ensures the need for higher taxes. And higher taxes lead to depressed consumer demand, which does not stimulate the growth of capital in a free market, but instead it thwarts it. You may spend less, and you may save more, but spending patterns will be affected. They generally embrace a “zero elasticity view of the world.” They believe that “people will behave after taxes just as they behaved before taxes and the only effect of taxes is more revenue.” In other words, they think we are cogs in a government-run economic machine operated by bureaucratic tinkers working for a greater good, rather than individuals who operate within individual circumstances. That is why collectivists love Keynesianism and hate supply-side economics. Keynesian economics, like socialism, Marxism, and fascism, can work only in the absence of individualism. And this is simply not a realistic expectation unless individualism is forcefully repressed. Rather, human nature dictates that individualism will be expressed in a free society, and along with it will come varying levels of ambition and ability and, ultimately, success. Individualism is reality and it cannot be ignored simply because it is an inconvenient consideration and yet that is precisely what Keynesian economists do and that is precisely why many recognize that Keynesian economists fail.

The nation faces an unprecedented tidal wave of tax hikes on January 1, 2013, aptly called “Taxmageddon,” costing nearly $500 billion the tax hike is so massive that accomplishing what many regarded as impossible: consensus that at least most of this tax hike must be prevented. The debate is really only about how much and when. At the same time, there is a growing consensus in favor of tax reform. There is a correct two-step sequencing to prevent all tax hikes now while working on and for tax reform in 2013. On January 1, 2013, among other unfortunate tax consequences:
· Income tax rates shoot up,
· The child credit is cut in half,
· The marriage penalty roars back,
· The capital gains tax rate goes up,
· The dividend tax rate soars,
· The payroll tax rate jumps two percentage points,
· The death tax is restored to its punitive past,
· The Alternative Minimum Tax relief expires, and
· A uniquely pernicious additional payroll tax hike from ObamaCare takes effect.
Collectively, this would by far be the largest tax hike in history. The effects on families and businesses would be devastating; the effects on the economy no less so. Congress can’t wait until after the election to act. Taxpayers deserve more respect from their elected officials than being left in doubt about facing a massive tax hike, and the economy also needs better tax certainty. True tax reform generally involves reducing the tax bias against saving and investment. While preventing “Taxmageddon” is not tax reform, failing to prevent “Taxmageddon” runs directly and substantially counter to fundamental tax reform. Congress should be aware that preventing the massive tax hikes of “Taxmageddon” and advancing tax reform are related but separate issues, and, by virtue of the calendar and electoral context, they should be addressed separately and in the proper order: First up should be preventing “Taxmageddon,” then, Congress should use the ensuing window of time to advance tax reform.

The President’s defense strategy creates a hollow force and worsens our readiness crisis because big cuts mean weakening the military’s ability to fulfill its constitutional duty to provide for the common defense. The President’s victory lap in Afghanistan on the anniversary of the death of Osama bin Laden at the hands of the Navy SEALs “an attempt to shore up his national security credentials, because he has spent the past three years gutting our military.” Barack Obama has exhibited a hostility to military preparedness even greater than that of Jimmy Carter, who left successor Ronald Reagan with a legacy of ships that couldn’t sail and planes the couldn’t fly for lack of parts and crew. Obama, who betrayed Poland and Czechoslovakia on missile defense and shut down key weapon systems like the F-22 Raptor, has vowed to veto any changes to the mandated cuts, including $650 billion from defense as called for by the Budget Control Act over the next decade. That cut comes on top of $460 billion in defense cuts already agreed to, a total of $1.1 trillion in defense cuts our commander in chief is OK with:
· Since Obama took office, over 50 major weapons programs of more than $300 billion have been cut or delayed.
· The House Armed Services Committee says the cumulative cuts will result in Army and Marine Corps losing 200,000 troops.
· The Navy will shrink from 300 ships to 238 vessels and would lose two carrier battle groups needed to project American power and influence.
· Strategic bombers will fall from 153 to 101.
· Air Force fighters would drop by more than half, from 3,602 aircraft to 1,512 planes.
These are real cuts, both in spending and in military capability. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta warned, “Very simply, (further cuts) would result in hollowing out the force,” alluding to reductions made in the aftermath of the Vietnam War that left Army units undermanned and ill-equipped and “It would terribly weaken our ability to respond to the threats in the world” and now we have Barack Hussein Obama, disarmer in chief.

If The Old Media Were Still Relevant

With Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts, now all but assured the GOP’s nomination for the Presidency, the left has spent no time at all doing what they do best. What they do best is distract. With the nation teetering on the brink of disaster, an economy that has not produced any net jobs since the President won election, a bloated government spending trillions of dollars more than it brings in and liberalism basically crushing the American dream, the left is interested in is whether or not they can make Mr. Romney look substantially worse than the failure currently residing in the White House.
Kicking off their assault on Mitt Romney, this week the left dug deep into Romney’s past to dredge up recollections that he once picked on, call it bullied, a fellow student. And if that was not bad enough, add to the meme the slap in the face that the fellow student may have been gay. Seriously? That’s the narrative that is supposed to make Mitt Romney into Satan himself and so toxic that no one would ever dare vote for him? Forget the fact that the family of this former “victim” of Mitt Romney is dead and there appears to be no one in the family who can corroborate the claim [1].
Ok, I get it. The President’s record is so horrid that this is the tactic his minions have to adopt. But they are no doubt upset at how quickly their political opponents turned the issue around on them. Breitbart’s Big Journalism website, for example, quickly flipped the issue around and produced evidence by the President’s own hand that he once shoved a girl [2] because he was sick of being taunted about how he was her boyfriend. Yes, the future President assaulted a girl, I repeat, a girl, because he was afraid of getting cooties?
Now, as much as the old media was ready and willing to run with the story about Mitt Romney to show how evil and vile he is, they have not been so quick to divulge Obama’s previous brush with being a bully himself. So, since the old media apparently needs help being fair and balanced, I have prepared a cheat sheet for you guys and gals. What follows is a set of questions you can ask of President Obama during his next news conference. Feel free to use all of these:
“Mr. President – was your bullying of the girl you admitted to in your book based in any way on race? Sure she was black, but did you think she was not black enough?”
“Mr. President – rumor has it that the girl you admitted to bullying was a lesbian. Were you engaging in a hate crime when you shoved her?”
“Mr. President – do you find it easier to be a bully after you have smoked marijuana or snorted cocaine?”
“Mr. President – is your propensity to bully girls because you see them as inferior to you?”
“Mr. President – have you ever paid restitution for the emotional distress to the girl you bullied?”
“Mr. President – you said that the girl you shoved was ‘plump’. Are you saying that you bullied her because she was fat?”
“Mr. President – was your bullying of this girl named Coretta in any way related to her unwillingness to convert to Islam or to wear a hijab?”
“Mr. President – how many other girls have you beat up in your lifetime?”
Now, from my standpoint these questions are all meant in jest. They are however about as serious and relevant as anything the old media has come up with in regards to Mitt Romney this week. And if Mitt Romney is going to get grilled about things he is accused of doing in high school, silly things a lot of people do in high school, then we have to hold the President to that same standard.
Let me know, old media, when you decide to step up to the plate on this one.
