INUNDATE CONGRESS

Send SNAIL MAIL to your congressperson demanding they call a convention ASAP. One good technique to get their attention is to send a Small Flat-Rate Box -- Domestic Rate: $4.80 for a 8 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 1 5/8" -- That's a little larger than a common red brick. Put a creative message inside written on something heavy. If 100 arrive in Washington that's good -- If 1000 arrive in Washington that's better -- If 10,000 arrive in Washington that's super -- If 100,000 arrive ... Oh well, you get the idea. Someone has to deal with all these heavy boxes, and they must be stored (even temporarily). In the meantime the PRESS can be informed via PRESS RELEASES to inquire about ALL THOSE BOXES! The post office is usually open on Saturday morning -- go get a Small Flat-Rate Box for each voting member of your family. The send your message to Congress ASAP.

Small Flat-Rate Box

Domestic Rate: $4.80 with online discount
You save $0.15 online
International Rate: $10.40 (Mexico/Canada), $12.30 (all other countries) with online
You save $0.55 to $0.65 online
Size: 8 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 1 5/8"
Good for: Messages to Congress, Brochures, Small Electronics, Jewelry, Vitamins and Medicine, and DVDs and CDs

a convention cannot be used against the people, the principle of it is simply to build consensus out of the people coming together. if the president or any other element of the federal government could use the convention clause against the people, they would have done it long ago.

if a convention call was coerced out of the congress, the states would hold special elections for delegates, and that in and of itself would open up discussion of ideas politicians do not want to talk about. again, if the convention could be used against the people, it would have been. and besides that, the federal government is already acting against the people day in and day out.

As was stated in the above post all 50 states have submitted 750 applications for an Article V Convention. The texts of the applications can be read at www.foavc.org. Many of the applications deal directly with the issues raised in that they would allow the people to decide on these issues rather than just the Congress.

As to the lawsuits mentioned the federal government admitted formally and officially before the Supreme Court that a convention call was peremptory, based solely on a simple numeric count of applying states with no other terms or conditions and that to refuse to call as Congress is doing now is a criminal violation of the oath of office of the members of Congress.

A read of the applications shows that long before these issues now facing us became critical the states did their parts in requesting a convention to propose amendments to deal with them. The states have done their parts. Now it is time for the people to do theirs.

I went to the page and I must say I do not agree with the universal healthcare as a right, never have and never will. All that does is put more burden on the tax payer. The tax payer is neither moraly or legally required to provide healthcare for anyone other than themselves.

the Article V Convention is currently mandated. all fifty states have cast applications and one congress after the next simply ignores this and hopes no one discusses it. the national group FOAVC (Friends of the Article V Convention) has created a pdf database showing the congressional record and the applications in it. http://www.foavc.org

thank for your time in composing this and posting it. i believe it is time for the Article V Convention. we have nothing to fear and everything to gain.
