They just want us to be what they are not.

They just want us to be what they are not.
    Carolyn Hileman

It might be because I do not feel well today or it might be because a dentist in our area decided to write to our paper to excoriate republicans for not bowing down to the wishes of the ever great Obama, but today I have just had enough, I have had enough of all these elitist jerks coming out and saying the American taxpayers have done a lot but they can do more, that we the conservative taxpayers are stingy, that we just do not care about the poor people and their health. Well now, I have yet to see any of these people who are so anxious to steal yet another dollar from my wallet doing anything but talking. They can tell us what to do, how to do it and when to do it but do it themselves, NEVER. This dentist, I have never heard of him offering free or low cost visits to his office, he certainly has not been hailed as one of the greatest charitable people in our community but hey he wants us to be what he is not.

And what about all the stars, they lend their name to so many causes, sorry guys but your name has yet to fill my tank, put food on my table or pay my doctor bills, so you can keep your name. They will sing at the drop of a hat for a myriad of causes but actually get their hands dirty, I think not, let’s see a few of you working at a soup kitchen, or handing out food to the homeless, perhaps you can go to the dying mans room and sing him a cure. You want to tell me I am selfish, that I don’t care about the poor, how many of those people on the side of the road with signs have you given a dime to? How many of you have actually looked into the faces of despair? How many of you even know one single person who has had to go without a meal that wasn’t on the latest diet? You want to sit up there on your high horses, maybe croon a tune, do a PSA, or complain on a talk show while the real people are busy trying to make ends meet and waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Most of these real people, volunteer at soup kitchens, give when they do not have it to give, watch their neighbors kids so that they can look for work, they are not drinking fine wine and talking about the next healthcare bill, they are working in the streets trying to repair some of the damage done by the last few trillion he spent. Let’s see Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Obama and the rest of his ilk, walk a mile in our shoes, let’s see them visit the sick, lets see them feed the poor, help someone with six kids, newly unemployed fix up their resume so they can go back to work. Let’s see them walk into a household with three kids, both parents working, just barely making ends meet and tell them to their faces they just are not doing enough. It will never happen, they just want us to be what they are not.

Culled out Obama administration will accept no more public input for federal fishery strategy

The Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing the nation’s oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters.

This announcement comes at the time when the situation supposedly still is “fluid” and the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force still hasn’t issued its final report on zoning uses of these waters.

Stupak: Health Bill Abortion Fight Can Be Resolved

Prospects are good for resolving a dispute over abortion that has led some House Democrats to threaten to withhold support of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, a key Michigan Democrat said Monday.

Rep. Bart Stupak said he expects to resume talks with House leaders this week in a quest for wording that would impose no new limits on abortion rights but also would not allow use of federal money for the procedure.

Obama Confuses Decades, Inflates Estimated Health Care Savings by $868B

President Obama, making his final push for health care reform, pitched his proposal Monday to a crowd in Pennsylvania with a deficit-reduction figure that the White House later admitted missed the mark.

“Our cost-cutting measures mirror most of the proposals in the current Senate bill, which reduces most people’s premiums and brings down our deficit by up to $1 trillion dollars over the next decade because we’re spending our health care dollars more wisely,” Obama told an audience at Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa., a suburb north of Philadelphia.

    Let The Light Shine Down

Did you ever notice the guy who talks real fast on the end of commercials? In fact he talks so fast you only catch a word here and there and really don’t have a good idea of what he’s trying, or not trying, to tell you.

You catch a phrase like, “restrictions apply,” or some such arcane string of words but you don’t know what they apply to or for how long.

Now you have to admit that it’s a cute trick being able to talk that fast, but did you ever stop and think why he does it? Could it be that the company being advertised wants to be able to say they made the disclaimers but they really didn’t want you to understand them, lest it would inhibit you from buying their product?
